Our History.

Our Roots

Breeding cattle has been a part of our operation since our start. A big change that we underwent was the shift from Murray Grey to Red Angus cattle in 2009. This was a new beginning for us, as we shifted our focus onto this new venture. We saw the potential in the breed to grow and service a market within the Australian cattle industry. They are a great example of how commercial viability can be so strongly supported by stud producers.

At the time we were finding it was increasingly becoming more difficult to sell Murray Grey animals, regardless of their bloodlines or the quality, so with the market shifting we decided to do so too. Despite having a history and many friendships within the breed, producing stud stock cattle is a business for us and we need to be producing a product that the market demands.

Red Angus

Initially when starting our Red Angus stud we purchased a female out of the Sydney Royal All Breeds Sale from RRA Red Angus and two females privately from BST Tullatoola. These were animals that we chose because of their structural soundness, their type, and the overall potential we saw in them. With these females setting the path for us, we complimented them with bloodlines from other herds including Trevone Park and Maverick Red Angus. With our foundations set in good, strong female lines, we continue to grow and improve.

Black Angus

More recently we have began looking into breeding black Angus alongside the red herd we have. We haven’t taken a big leap into it yet, as we believe there is a lot to learn and we wanted to be confident in the way we were going to be adding another breed to our enterprise.

In 2019 our first two black Angus calves were born, and we have started travelling to inspect sires and cow families throughout North America. We aim to use our Canadian Red Angus donors as a way of introducing some black Angus to our program, and likewise we will look at dual registering some of our herd here in Australia.

Moving Forward

We are extremely proud to be able to align ourselves with some of the best operations around the globe to bring our vision to life. With regular trips across Australia and around the world to source genetics and network with other operations, we can say comfortably that we are able to bring you some of the best genetics available.
