2020 Trade Secret Genetic Auction

Goondoola Livestock is a family run operation owned by Paul and Sue Powe along with their daughters Nicole, Hannah and their families. Established in the early 1980s breeding solely Murray Grey cattle, Goondoola diversified into Red Angus in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since.

We are proud to be offering our first set of genetic packages, including semen and embryos from sires and donors that we have built our breeding program on or have selected to bring to the Australian market.

Thank you for taking interest in our operation and we hope you can find something that suits your needs.

 Our Lots

LOT 1:        4x EMBRYOS

BST Tullatoola Robin’s Doll C104
x KJHT Power Take Off

This cross speaks for itself. An absolute show champion of a bull, and a cow that has not been shown herself but has bred around 10 champions across the country. This match is sure to breed a winner, or better yet - a quality producer that breeds on for generations to come.

PTO progeny is taking the world by storm, and they are just starting to hit the ground here in Australia. They have a great outlook and presence, and we cannot wait to show you some!

This is your only chance for 2020 to get your hands-on embryos of this mating, and your only chance in this sale to buy embryos sired by PTO - don’t miss out. .

LOT 2:        2x EMBRYOS FROM EACH

BST Tullatoola Robin’s Doll C104
x Red Six Mile Custom Made 505C
x Goondoola National N09

The C104/Custom Made is really safe cross. Progeny are soft, smooth, sound and moderate in their make up with gentle natures. One son has sold to Tasmania, with the other, Goondoola Pale Ale P07, in our Sydney team for 2020 and set to sell at the 2020 Red Angus National. We have also used him within our herd. We are so excited to see how the C104/National embryos turn out! And you may beat us to it.

National N09 was the Sydney Royal reserve senior champion bull that went on to sell for the equal top price of $10,000 at the 2019 Red Angus National to the Llewellyn family, Jillangolo Red Angus, SA. He was long, free moving and good footed with a lot of sires appeal and muscle expression. We used him over cows and heifers. His calves here at Goondoola are rippers.

Note: pack contains two (2) embryos of each mating (total 4), guaranteeing two (2) pregnancies.

LOT 3:        3x EMBRYOS

RED JCC Roxie 20s
x Red Six Mile John Wick

The first embryos sired by John Wick 882E to sell in Australia. Impressed by this sire’s progeny overseas last year, we purchased some doses to try over our Canadian donors with the ultimate goal of offering more outcross genetics to producers here. John Wick 882E was the $57,000 (½ interest) high-seller in the 2018 Six Mile Bull Sale, purchased by Niobrara Red Angus. He is admired for his foot shape, athletic structure and presence, and his progeny definitely have that captivating look. Roxie 20S is one of our Canadian donors we secured in 2016 with the help of Blairs.Ag. She is a moderate-framed female with tremendous length, feminity and soundness, her progeny has added softness, balance and all round good skin and hair type which we really like. The udder quality of Roxie 20S’ first set of daughters is impressive with great teat size and placement, and a great amount of milk for first-calf females.           Note: pack of three embryos, guaranteeing one pregnancy

LOT 4:        4x EMBRYOS

RED JCC Roxie 20s
x Damar Trump

Trump has paved his way in the show ring with multiple championships, but he has also sired champions in the ring and in the paddock throughout Canada and America. He is a Power Eye 161X son from a Mulberry 26P daughter. The Trump daughters we already have are phenotypically stunning. The first calves of this Roxie 20S/Trump mating have just been born at Goondoola. Roxie 20S is one of our Canadian donors we secured in 2016 with the help of Blairs.Ag. She is a moderate-framed female with tremendous length, femininity and soundness, her progeny has added softness, balance and all-round good skin and hair type which we really like. The udder quality of Roxie 20S’ first set of daughters is impressive with great teat size and placement, and a great amount of milk for first-calf females.

LOT 5:        4x EMBRYOS

RED JCC Roxie 20s
x Six Mile Desert Storm 94d (Black)

Roxie 20S is one of our Canadian donors we secured in 2016 with the help of Blairs.Ag. She is a moderate-framed female with tremendous length, femininity and soundness, her progeny has added softness, balance and all-round good skin and hair type which we really like. The udder quality of Roxie 20S’ first set of daughters is impressive with great teat size and placement, and a great amount of milk for first-calf females. Desert Storm 94D is a bull proudly bred by Six Mile that we had access to through the Blairs.Ag program, and after discussion decided to use because of how he was breeding for Blairs. We liked his thickness, outlook, size and maturity pattern so we hope this cross works well.

Note: the sire of these embryos is a black Angus bull. Progeny will result black.

LOT 6:        4x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Cheta L03
x Goondoola Lonestar L18

An exciting genetic package with the first progeny from this mating on the ground and continuing to impress us. These embryos are ¾ siblings to Goondoola Cheta N15, the 2019 Sydney Royal supreme Red Angus exhibit who we have back in the show team for 2020. The dam is a total outcross in Australia who’s full Canadian sibling was the high-selling female out of Six Mile Red Angus at the 2016 Genetic Focus Sale. Sired by 2013 Denver reserve grand champion bull, Cheta is a feminine, clean fronted, long bodied and sound female. Sired by the $17,000 senior champion of the 2017 Red Angus National, Goondoola Lonestar L18, who also sired the 2019 Red Angus National grand champion bull Goondoola Nebraska N26 and has been breeding well for us here at Goondoola. We have retained and are using a bull of this cross (PSPP23) heavily within our herd.

LOT 7:        2x EMBRYOS FROM EACH

Goondoola Cheta L03
x Red Ter-Ron Parker 34A
x Goondoola New World N03

Goondoola Cheta L03 is a total outcross in Australia who’s full Canadian sibling was the high-selling female out of Six Mile Red Angus at the 2016 Genetic Focus Sale. Sired by 2013 Denver reserve grand champion bull, Cheta is a feminine, clean fronted, long bodied and sound female.

We used Red Ter-Ron Parker 34A over our Cheta female to help darken her up and add extra muscle shape and performance. It also allowed us to combine some pretty well-known sire and cow lines out of Canada, so we expect these embryos to produce genetically elite and phenotypically right cattle.

New World N03 is breeding some really nice females, so we flushed Cheta L03 to him to continue a really strong maternal aspect within our herd while again adding some extra muscle shape to the progeny. New World N03 was the 2018 Sydney Royal reserve junior champion bull, and he is backed by a strong cow line with dam just added to our donor line-up as she does not seem to miss. His first calves are in our 2020 Sydney Royal team, with one on offer in the Red Reflections II sale in April.

Note: pack contains two (2) embryos of each mating (total 4), guaranteeing two (2) pregnancies.

LOT 8:        2x EMBRYOS FROM EACH

Red Blairs Monique 175A
x Damar Trump
x Red Blairs Bingo 581B

Monique 175A had a Bingo heifer as her first natural calf that was purchased and successfully shown by Baxter Blair of Double B Red Angus, Canada. We were so impressed by that heifer that we knew Monique’s first flush would be to Bingo. We have one stunning female of this cross at home, and she impresses people that come by with her softness, easy doing ability, depth of body, quiet nature and just all round soundness. She is stout, dark red, quiet and despite being asked a lot, we won’t give her up. This is your chance to get a good one.

We have two daughters of the Monique/Trump cross, and we really love them. They are wedge shaped, long bodied and square hipped with beautiful extension through the front end, femininity and those big ears everyone loves! Trump has paved his way in the show ring with multiple championships, but he has also siring champions in the ring and in the paddock. He is Power Eye 161X son and from a Mulberry 26P daughter. One of these females in particular is packed full of potential and is pencilled in to be part of our Melbourne Royal Red Angus feature show team in September.

Note: pack contains two (2) embryos of each mating (total 4), guaranteeing two (2) pregnancies.

LOT 9:        4x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Gold G04
x Red Lazy MC Cowboy Cut 26U

We love our Gold females, and we really love this cross. A bull of the same cross was pencilled to be in our show team for 2020. Gold G04 had a natural Cowboy Cut heifer calf in 2017 and we liked her so much that we wanted more. That natural calf, Goondoola Gold M24 was the 2019 supreme interbreed female of Blayney Show, the Sydney Royal senior champion and her first calf was the National All Breeds Junior Heifer Show bull bonanza champion at 10 months. She is moderate, near faultless in her structure and she milks the house down. A bull of the same cross is in our show team for 2020 and has been used within our herd over cows and commercial heifers. He is stout, soft and packed full of muscle. Progeny of this cross are just functional and productive - what more do you want? (Daughter Pictured).

LOT 10:        4x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Gold G04
x Red Six Mile Custom Made 505C

A daughter of this same cross, Gold P09, was the junior and grand champion female of the 2019 Red Angus National, selling to Tasmania. If she is anything to go by, these calves will be sweet natured, wedge shaped, easy fleshing and sound structured. Gold P09 recorded EBVs in the top 15% for birth weight and calving ease direct.

LOT 11:        3x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Gold G04
x Goondoola New World N03

Our Gold females are creating a name for themselves, and we expect this mating to continue that maternal strength and longevity they are known for with good udders, strong toplines, beautiful front ends and great hip to pin set ups. New World N03 was the 2018 Sydney Royal reserve junior champion bull, and he is backed by a strong cow line with his dam just added to our donor line-up as she does not seem to miss. His first calves were in our 2020 Sydney Royal team, with one on offer in the Red Reflections II sale in April.

Note: pack of three embryos, guaranteeing one pregnancy

LOT 12:        4x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Gold M24
x Goondoola Never Forget N18

A new donor to our female line up, Gold M24 is what we want our females to be - productive, fertile and functional. For her first flush we joined Gold M24 to our 2019 Red Angus National senior champion, Never Forget N18 who sold to K5X Red Angus, Qld, after seeing how well this mating worked as her second natural PSPQ32. And didn’t she flush the house down giving us 20 out of 24 fertilised eggs. Never Forget N18 has added the extra punch and muscle shape we wanted, while retaining the structural soundness we love Gold M24 for. Everyone that comes home is asking about this calf, so do yourselves a favour and get your hands on this cross.

LOT 13:        3x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Gold J15
x Goondoola Never Forget N18

Gold J15 is another new donor to our line-up after she produced three quality calves that have all won ribbons, and better yet gone on to produce good calves for us. She is maternal and an extremely fertile female that is what we want our females to look like - big ribbed, square hipped, long bodied and with so much outlook and presence about her. Her latest natural calf is this mating, and she was an absolute cracker but unfortunately, she injured herself, did nerve damage and now cannot walk properly. She won’t continue as a breeding female because of this, but she is thick, square, soft and really balanced. Because of this, we wanted to recreate this calf so flushed her way and implanted the embryos as soon as we could.

Note: pack of three embryos, guaranteeing one pregnancy.

LOT 14:        3x EMBRYOS

Goondoola Miss Kranberry K10
x Red Corner Creek Cash 2R

A new donor to our program, Kranberry K10 is a feminine yet powerful, long bodied Miss D/Mulberry daughter that is breeding performance and good feet into her progeny. Hannah exhibited a similar cross heifer, Goondoola Navy N02 at the 2018 Angus Youth National Roundup and won reserve champion bred and owned exhibit.

LOT 15:         2x EMBRYOS FROM EACH

BST Tullatoola Vera D177
x Red Lazy MC Cowboy Cut 26U
x Andras New Direction 240

A daughter of the renowned Red Towaw Indeed 104H sire, she is a moderate and deep bodied with so much width. She milks the house down with a milk EBV of +16 that sits her in the top 10% of the breed. She is a maternal sister to the BST Mr Beef A25 bull that has sired both Miss D G02 and Gold G04. She has been moved on due to the drought, so limited embryos will be available from this female.

These two sires don’t need an introduction with a number of calves registered in the database in Australia. Dark coated, deep sided, and easy doing calves is what we got from this mating. Vera D177 progeny are always quiet and easy-care cattle that have a good skin and hair type, and combining that with the characteristics of the sires has resulted in good calves.

LOT 16:         4x EMBRYOS

BST Tullatoola Vera D177
x Red Towaw Orazi Calidad 130Y

A different mating here, introducing new genetics out of Argentina to the mix. We were so impressed by Orazi Calidad’s rib shape, muscle mass and the overall substance of the bull that we had to use him, but we wanted to use him right. We chose Vera D177 as we thought she could balance out the power of the bull, while not giving up structure and softness.

Lot 17:         Pick of the Herd Flush

We are excited to open our herd to a successful individual to select one of our highly prosperous and productive females to flush to the bull of their choice. Conditions: 12 months expiry date, from time of sale. Winning bidder to pay all associated costs with flushing. Flushing to be carried out by an agreed technician. If sold to an international buyer, they must pay all flush centre and export costs.

Flush includes a minimum of 4, maximum 8 fertilised A grade embryos with a guarantee of 50% successful recipient pregnancies if an agreed ET technician is used to implant embryos. Winning bidder has the option to purchase adequate straws from the vendor to use in the flush program or may choose straws from their own tank inventory.

Note: Our Canadian donors may be available for flushing, please contact us if you are interested in this lot and are thinking about possibly utilising these two females.

Lot 18: KJHT Power Take Off (PTO)

Lot 18 A:         10 Straws
Lot 18 A:         10 Straws
Lot 18 A:         5 Straws

The 2019 national grand champion Red Angus bull at the Fort Worth Stock Show. We saw PTO at Agribition last year and loved the thickness and soundness of this bull. He has a lot of power and performance but gets out there and moves.

PTO is breeding well in the states and Canada with his son, L83 2Strong 13F named reserve grand champion bull to PTO at Fort Worth.

His first calves have just been born at Goondoola and look very promising. Minimal release of semen in 2020 so get your hands on this sire while you can.

Lot 19:   Goondoola Lonestar L18

10 Straws

Lonestar L18 was the 2017 Red Angus National senior champion bull that sold for $17,000 to Victoria. We really loved him so used him over cows and heifers and collected him before he was sold. Since we have gone back to joining cows to him, and we have even flushed with him to result in some great matings. His first son continued his legacy receiving the junior and grand champion titles of the 2019 Red Angus National.

He is breeding really well for us at Goondoola, adding growth and great outlook to his progeny. They tend to be long bodied, strong topped cattle with beautiful neck extension. We have just calved down his oldest heifer progeny, and they have beautiful udders and a great maternal outlook.

Lot 20: Goondoola New World N03

10 Straws

New World N03 was the 2018 Sydney Royal reserve junior champion bull, and he is backed by a strong cow line with dam just added to our donor line-up as she does not seem to miss. Himself he was a naturally long bodied bull with a lot of muscle and sires appeal. He had good bone, and was extremely thick topped.

His first calves were set to be in our 2020 Sydney Royal team, with one on offer in the Red Reflections II sale in April.

Lot 21: Goondoola Never Forget N18

10 Straws

Never Forget N18 was a standout bull from the start, not just for his genetics but for his quality of phenotype. He was the senior champion of the 2019 Red Angus National selling to K5X Angus, Qld. He is a wide, smooth, long bull that offers great neck extension and natural thickness.

A bull that gets out there and moves well on good feet and legs. Sibling to the 2016 and 2018 Sydney supreme exhibits. First draft of calves are on the ground at Goondoola.

Lot 22:   Mixed Semen Package

10 Straws Total (2 of Each Bull)
